Open the container and gently shake the granules in bands or surrounding an area. This will create an effective barrier that will help keep snakes away. Be sure to spread the repellent around the entire area you wish to protect. Any breaks in the repellent lines are a potential entry point for snakes.
After heavy or persistent rainfall, reapply the snake repellent to keep its potency and scent strong around protected areas. Apply the repellent in 4 to 5-inch wide bands for protection against garter snakes and 8 to 12-inch wide bands for protection against rattlesnakes.
