Malbec F1 is a dark red, flattened globe shape with good storage for its type. Excellent top vigour with improved Downy Mildew tolerance compared to similar maturity.
Malbec F1 is among the leading onions varieties in terms of big yields, it’s resistant to Purple Blotch and Downey Mildew diseases, it has a very long shelf life of more than 8 months when stored in good conditions, has early maturing varieties and matures in 90days from transplanting, it’s deep red which color the market is looking for and the smell is strong, has good skin retention.
Yield potential with good maintenance is 30-35tonnes per acre on spacing of 10cm x 10 cm from seedling to seedling.
