Description

Ranger 480 EC is a non-systemic contact and stomach insecticide for foliar and stem application that is active against a range of insects widely used in agriculture for controlling insect pests including aphids, thrips, and whiteflies on roses, thrips, and Antestia bugs on coffee. It is also used as a termicide for termites in construction buildings and fruit trees.

 

 

MODE OF ACTION

Chlorpyrifos (organophosphate group) works by blocking an enzyme that controls messages that travel between nerve cells. When the enzyme is blocked, the nervous system can’t send normal signals, which causes the nervous system to malfunction, eventually killing the pest.

 

 

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Roses Aphids, Thrips, Whiteflies Foliar spray1.5-2 L/ha in 1000 litres of water

 Apply at first signs of pest attack.Carry a sensitivity test on a few plants particularly on roses.

Repeat applications on a 7-14 day intervals for maximum 3 applications per seasons.
Coffee Thrips, Berry borer,  Antestia bugs Foliar spray2 L/ha in 1000 litres of water

2 ml per litre of water

 Apply at first sign of pest attack and repeat when necessary.Ensure thorough wetting of the plant.

Repeat applications on a 7-14 day intervals for maximum 3 applications per seasons.

Building construction Termites on wood 3 ml per litre of water Spray the construction wood and adjacent soil thoroughly.
Fruit trees Termites 10-20 ml per litre of water Drench at the base of a tree followed by irrigating enough water, depending on severity of termite infection.

 

 

APPLICATION TECHNIQUE

RANGER 480EC can be used as a direct spray or drenched into the soil (especially when controlling termites). Adequate coverage of the crop foliage and construction wood should be ensured.

 

 

APPLICATION TIMING

Apply RANGER 480EC at first signs of infestation or insect egg hatch peak period and repeat applications on a 7-14 day intervals based on regular scouting.

 

 

PREPARATION OF SPRAY MIXTURE

Fill the spray tank with half the amount of required water. Add the required amount of RANGER 480EC and fill the water to the required level. Agitate to ensure thorough mixing. Use the spray mixture on the same day of preparation.

 

 

COMPATIBILITY

RANGER 480EC is compatible with the most commonly used pesticides and liquid fertilizers. However, a compatibility test is advisable before mixing commercial quantities or spraying a large area.

 

 

PHYTOTOXICITY

RANGER 480EC is non-phytotoxic when used as recommended.

 

 

RE-ENTRY PERIOD

DO NOT enter treated areas during the restricted-entry interval of 24 hours after the spraying. If prior entry is necessary wear appropriate protective clothing.
